The Electric Bike Conversion Experts

At BikePro Servicing we do electric bike conversion, bike repair and servicing almost every day of the year. On the odd free day though, we like to unwind with a relaxing day out. Sometimes we even leave Hampshire…

One such event is the Nifty 50 charity endurance race.

In this mad 5 hour charity event, teams try to complete as many laps as they can on a specially prepared off-road circuit on the outskirts of Winchester. Something this mad must be for charity, and this is. Teams have to navigate small jumps and climbs and try to overcome all adversities during the event and endeavour to keep their little machines going right to the end.

Some More About Us

The machines being used once started life as road machines and have been adapted for this event by way of minor modifications such as off-road pattern tyres and the removal of lights and mirrors. This ensures that each team can compete against each other fairly and that the cost of competing is kept to a minimum.

Not only was Stuart the captain of his team, but he was responsible for cobbling together a machine that could never have passed an MOT! Even though it was a little out of scope from the day job of repairing and maintenance of bicycles, Stuart convinced everyone all it was a bicycle with an engine thing in the middle. Dave Christian was bought in to do the engine stuff, and together the team raised close to £300 for Cancer Research.

The event turned out to be a lot of fun, in a bone jarring sort of way, and was the team’s first experience of off road riding. A great day out for some of the madder members of our club! Irene Mathieson, Tony Kenward, John Baker and Stuart took it in turns to suffer, and they eventually came in eighth out of the eighteen teams that started.

Great day out, in an uncomfortable sort of way! Well a road race event is scheduled in October, so a little bit of repair work and tyre upgrade 50cc beast will be out again, watch out for the update!

Customer Testimonial

“On behalf of Botley Parish Council and the community thank you so much for your help in marshalling on Sunday at the Carols in the Square. I know that it isn’t the most exciting or glamorous job in the world, but it is so necessary to the safe-running of the event, which couldn’t be held in its present format without people like you. Willing volunteers are as rare as hen’s teeth and I’d like you to know how much you’re appreciated.”
